Spouse
Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 2713

O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens and Lord of the Great Throne! Be my neighbour against the evil of this person and the evil of his actions, and against the evil of every moving creature. Verily, my Lord is on the Straight Path.

Allahumma Rabba as-samawati as-sab'i, wa Rabba al-'arshil-'adheem. Kun li jaran min sharri hatha as-sayyidi wa sharri hasihi, wa min sharri kulli dabbatin anta akhidhun binasiyatiha. Inna Rabbi 'ala siratin mustaqim.

Source & Authentication

It was narrated from Abu al-Malih that he was with Baridah when he was accompanying a group of people on a military expedition. They suffered greatly from thirst and hardship. Baridah said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I am telling you about what we are suffering from the hardships of the journey and the thirst.' He said: 'Do not say: O 'Abdullah bin 'Amr, say: O Allah, help me.' Then Baridah said: 'O Allah, help me.' The Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens and Lord of the Great Throne! Be my neighbour against the evil of this person and the evil of his actions, and against the evil of every moving creature. Verily, my Lord is on the Straight Path.' And he said: 'This supplication is a protection for you.'
