اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ النَّاسِ، أَذْهِبِ البَأسَ، اشْفِ أَنْتَ الشَّافِي، لا شِفَاءَ إِلاَّ شِفَاؤُكَ، شِفَاءً لا يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًا
O Allah, Lord of mankind, remove this suffering. Heal, for You are the Healer. There is no healing but Your healing, a healing that leaves no illness behind.
Allahumma Rabba n-nas, adhib il-ba's, ishfi anta sh-Shafi, la shifa'a illa shifa'uk, shifa'an la yughadiru saqama.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to teach his companions how to seek refuge in Allah from illness. It is narrated that when Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) fell ill, the Prophet (peace be upon him) would make this dua for her. It is also narrated that when he himself was sick, he would recite this dua for himself, and sometimes he would have his wife Aisha recite it for him. The essence is turning to Allah in times of severe need, with the specific plea for complete and lasting healing.
