بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing can harm on earth or in the heavens, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

Bismillahilladhi la yadhurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i wa huwas-Samee'ul-Aleem

When to Read

This powerful dua is recommended to be recited three times in the morning and three times in the evening. It's a shield against any sudden affliction, epidemic, or calamity that may befall one, by Allah's will.

How to Read

Recite it sincerely with full conviction in Allah's power and protection. Make sure to pronounce the Arabic words correctly and understand the meaning. The Prophet ﷺ taught us to say this supplication with earnestness, so approach it with a humble and hopeful heart.

Virtues & Benefits

This supplication offers immense protection. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: 'Whoever says this three times in the morning, will not be afflicted by any sudden calamity until the evening. And whoever says it three times in the evening, will not be afflicted by any sudden calamity until the morning.' (Sunan Abi Dawud 5087). It's a proactive way to invoke Allah's safeguard for ourselves and our families.

Uthman ibn Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "No servant says 'Bismillahilladhi la yadhurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i wa huwas-Samee'ul-Aleem' three times in the morning, but that he will not be afflicted by anything that would harm him that day. And no servant says it three times in the evening, but that he will not be afflicted by anything that would harm him that night." (Sunan Abi Dawud 5087, graded Hasan by scholars).
