بِسْمِ اللَّهِ، تُرْبَةُ أَرْضِنَا، بِرِيقِ بَعْضِنَا، يُشْفَى سَقِيمُنَا، بِإِذْنِ رَبِّنَا.
In the name of Allah, with the soil of our land, mixed with the saliva of some of us, our sick will be healed by the permission of our Lord.
Bismillahi, turbatu ardina, biriqi ba'dina, yushfa saqeemuna, bi'idhni Rabbina.
When to Read
This powerful supplication is specifically recommended for seeking Allah's healing from any ailment or pain, whether physical or spiritual. It's a practice that can be done at the onset of illness, during a prolonged sickness, or whenever one experiences discomfort and seeks divine intervention. Imagine the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ teaching this to a companion when someone was ill – it shows the practical care and spiritual remedy he ﷺ provided for his Ummah.
How to Read
The practice involves taking a bit of soil (preferably from one's own home or a clean place), mixing it with a small amount of saliva from the person reciting or the afflicted person, and then reciting this dua. This mixture is then applied to the area of pain or illness. It's important to have sincere intention and complete reliance on Allah (Tawakkul) while reciting. The act itself is a means, and the healing comes from Allah alone. Recite it with humility and a clear heart, visualizing Allah's power to heal.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua is a direct teaching from the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, embodying a holistic approach to healing that combines physical means (the soil and saliva) with the spiritual power of Allah's name and the invocation of His permission for healing. It reminds us that even the most basic elements of our earth can become a source of cure when blessed by Allah. By following this Sunnah, we actively seek Allah's help in times of need, strengthening our connection and dependence on Him. It's a beautiful example of how Islam integrates spiritual remedies with practical actions, ensuring we turn to our Creator in all circumstances.

Sahih al-Bukhari 5740: 'Urwah narrated that 'Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: When any of us fell ill, Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) would rub the patient with his right hand and say: 'O Allah, Lord of mankind, remove the illness, heal him (for You are the Healer). There is no healing but Yours, a healing that leaves no disease behind.' Sahih Muslim 2194: 'Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: When a person complained to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) about a wound or a cut, the Prophet (ﷺ) would wipe it with his forefinger (saying this): 'In the name of Allah, the soil of our land and the saliva of some of us (may heal) our sick by the permission of our Lord.'
