Uthman ibn Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever visits a sick person whose appointed time has not yet come, and he says four things concerning him, then Allah causes him to recover from that illness." So they asked: "What are those four things?" He said: "That he asks Allah the Mighty, the Lord of the Mighty Throne, to grant him recovery (As'alu Allaha al-'Azeema Rabbul-'Arshil-'Azeemi an yashfiyaka)." (He said this for a male patient) and: "That he asks Allah the Mighty, the Lord of the Mighty Throne, to grant her recovery (As'alu Allaha al-'Azeema Rabbul-'Arshil-'Azeemi an yashfiyaki)." (He said this for a female patient).
