بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing can cause harm in the earth nor in the sky, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
Bismillahi alladhi la yadurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i wa huwas-Samee'ul-'Aleem
When to Read
This powerful dua is recommended to be recited three times every morning and evening. It's a shield we can actively put up for ourselves and our families against all forms of harm, including physical ailments and diseases.
How to Read
Recite this supplication with sincere intention and conviction in Allah's power to protect. It is best recited in the morning after Fajr prayer and in the evening after Asr or Maghrib prayer. You can cup your hands and read it, then blow into them and wipe over yourself, or simply recite it with your heart focused on Allah.
Virtues & Benefits
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ promised that whoever recites this dua three times in the morning and three times in the evening will not be afflicted by any sudden calamity. This encompasses protection from all types of diseases and afflictions, by the grace of Allah. It fosters reliance on Allah (tawakkul) and reminds us that true safety comes only from Him.

Narrated by Uthman ibn Affan (may Allah be pleased with him): I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "He who says: 'Bismillah alladhi la yadurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i wa huwas-Samee'ul-'Aleem' (In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing can cause harm in the earth nor in the sky, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing), three times every morning, will not be afflicted by any sudden calamity until the morning."
