بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
In the name of Allah, with Whose name nothing can cause harm on earth or in heaven, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
Bismillahi alladhi la yadhurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i wa huwa as-samee'ul-aleem.

This supplication is a shield against physical harm and calamities. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ assured us that whoever recites this dua morning and evening will not be afflicted by any sudden calamity. Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that a man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I have been bitten by a scorpion in the night.' He said: 'If you had said, when you entered the evening: Bismillahi alladhi la yadhurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i wa huwa as-samee'ul-aleem (three times), it would not have harmed you.' (Sunan Abi Dawud 3864). This highlights its efficacy against immediate physical threats, including venoms and poisons.

Narrated by Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: 'Whoever says, 'Bismillahi alladhi la yadhurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i wa huwa as-samee'ul-aleem' (In the name of Allah, with Whose name nothing can cause harm on earth or in heaven, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing) three times in the morning, he will not be afflicted by any calamity unexpectedly until morning comes. And whoever says it three times in the morning, he will not be afflicted by calamity unexpectedly until the evening comes.'
