بِسْمِ اللهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing on earth or in the heavens can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
Bismillahilladhi la yadhurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i wa Huwas-Samee'ul-Aleem.
When to Read
This powerful dua is to be recited daily, especially in the morning and evening. It serves as a general protection against all forms of harm, including the whispers and effects of witchcraft, jinn, and the evil eye. When experiencing symptoms that might be attributed to such afflictions, reciting this with conviction can bring immense solace and divine protection.
How to Read
Recite this dua three times in the morning after Fajr prayer and three times in the evening after Maghrib prayer. It is recommended to do so with sincere intention, focusing on Allah's power to protect and heal. You can also recite it directly over yourself or a sick person, placing your hand on the area of discomfort, while maintaining belief in Allah's ability to cure.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this dua as a means of seeking Allah's protection. Its recitation ensures that no harm will come to the person on that day or night from anything, by the permission of Allah. This protection encompasses physical ailments, spiritual afflictions, and the malicious intentions of creation, including the effects of magic. It fosters a strong reliance on Allah (Tawakkul) and strengthens one's connection with the Divine.

Narrated by Aban ibn Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him): 'My father [Uthman ibn Affan] narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'He who says: 'In the name of Allah, with Whose name nothing on earth or in the heavens can be harmed, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing' (three times), will not be afflicted by any unexpected malady until the morning comes, and if he says it in the morning, he will not be afflicted by any unexpected malady until the evening comes.' (Aban ibn Uthman said: 'Umar ibn al-Khattab began to have pain in his leg, and someone began to look at him. Aban said: 'This hadith is the one I have related to you.' (Then he mentioned that 'Umar had said): 'If Allah had not willed it, he would not have said it.' - Sahih Muslim 2709, Sunan Abi Dawud 3866, Sunan At-Tirmidhi 3398.
