بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ النَّاسِ، أَذْهِبِ البَأْسَ، اشْفِ أَنْتَ الشَّافِي، لاَ شِفَاءَ إِلاَّ شِفَاؤُكَ، شِفَاءً لاَ يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًا.
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. O Allah, Lord of mankind, remove this suffering and heal him/her, for You are the Healer. There is no healing except Your healing, [healing that leaves] no disease behind.
Bismillāhir-Raḥmānir-Raḥīm. Allāhumma Rabban-nās, adz-hibil-ba’s, isyfi anta-sh-shāfī, lā shifā’a illā shifā’uka, shifā’an lā yughādiru saqaman.
When to Read
This powerful dua is recommended to be recited when someone is ill and suffering, seeking Allah's help for recovery and complete wellness. It can be recited by the patient themselves, or by a loved one or Muslim brother/sister on their behalf. It’s particularly fitting when visiting the sick (biyārah al-marīḍ) as the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us to say this when seeing someone unwell.
