‘Uthman ibn Abi al-‘As (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that he complained to Allah’s Messenger ﷺ about a pain he had felt in his body since he had embraced Islam. Allah’s Messenger ﷺ said to him: 'Place your hand on the part of your body that hurts and say: Bismillahi, a'udhu billahi wa qudratihi min sharri ma ajidu wa uhadhir' (In the name of Allah, I seek refuge in Allah and His power from the evil of what I feel and what I fear). He (Uthman) said: 'I did that, and Allah removed the pain from me, and I have continued saying it, asking my family to recite it regularly.' (Sahih Muslim 2208)
