اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ النَّاسِ، أَذْهِبِ البَأْسَ، اشْفِ أَنْتَ الشَّافِي، لاَ شِفَاءَ إِلاَّ شِفَاؤُكَ، شِفَاءً لاَ يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًا

O Allah, Lord of mankind, remove the suffering, heal him/her, You are the Healer. There is no healing except Your healing, a healing that leaves no ailment behind.

Allahumma Rabb an-nas, adh-hibil-ba's, ishfi anta ash-Shafi, la shifa'a illa shifa'uk, shifaa'an la yughadiru saqama

When to Read

This dua is profoundly beneficial when recited for oneself or for a loved one facing illness, especially a serious one like cancer. It's most potent when said with sincere conviction during times of distress or daily supplication. You can also recite it when visiting a sick person, placing your hand on the affected area (if appropriate) and saying this prayer.

Recite this dua with a sincere heart and unwavering faith in Allah's power to heal. It's recommended to place your right hand on the part of the body that is ailing. Repeat it seven times. The essence is heartfelt supplication, not just mechanical recitation.

Source & Authentication

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to teach us this dua for the sick. The hadith states: 'When the Prophet (ﷺ) visited a sick person or a sick person was brought to him, he would say: "Allahumma Rabb an-nas, adh-hibil-ba's, ishfi anta ash-Shafi, la shifa'a illa shifa'uk, shifaa'an la yughadiru saqama" (O Allah, Lord of mankind, remove the suffering, heal him, You are the Healer. There is no healing except Your healing, a healing that leaves no ailment behind)."' (Sahih al-Bukhari 5675)
