Sickness
Hasan HadithSunan Abi Dawud 3889

In the name of Allah, I seek refuge for myself from every illness and from the healing of the soul and body from the heat of this ailment, and from the evil of cold and epidemic.

Bismillahi, irqini min kulli daa', wa shifa'in-nafsi wal-jasadi min harri hadhihil-'illah, wa min sharri al-baradi wal-waba'.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua encapsulates a deep reliance on Allah for physical and spiritual well-being. It acknowledges Allah as the ultimate Healer and seeks protection not just from the immediate symptom of fever (heat) but from all forms of illness and potential complications. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us to turn to Allah in times of sickness, and this dua is a beautiful way to do so.

Source & Authentication

Narrated by 'Uthman ibn Abi al-'As al-Thaqafi (may Allah be pleased with him): He complained to Allah's Messenger ﷺ about a pain he felt in his body since he had become Muslim. So, Allah's Messenger ﷺ said: 'Place your hand on the part of your body where you feel pain and say: Bismillahi (In the name of Allah) - three times; and say: A'udhu billahi wa qudratihi min sharri ma ajidu wa uhadhiru (I seek refuge in Allah and His Power from the evil of what I find and what I guard against) - seven times.'
