بِسْمِ اللهِ، تُرْبُ أَرْضِنَا، بِرِيقِ بَعْضِنَا، يَشْفِي سَقِيمَنَا، بِإِذْنِ رَبِّنَا.

In the name of Allah! The soil of our land and the saliva of some of us are a cure for our sick, by the permission of our Lord.

Bismillahi, turbu ardina, riqu ba'dina, yashfi saqeemana, bi idhni rabbina.

Virtues & Benefits

This beautiful dua, taught by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, is a profound reminder of how we should turn to Allah for all our needs, even for physical ailments. It encapsulates a holistic approach to healing, acknowledging that earthly remedies (like soil) work only by Allah's permission ('bi idhni rabbina'). Reciting this fosters a deep sense of tawakkul (reliance on Allah) and strengthens our connection with Him during times of weakness, reminding us that true healing comes from the Divine.

Source & Authentication

Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: When any person among us took ill, Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) would rub his hand over him and say: 'O Allah, Lord of mankind, remove the disease, cure him, for You are the One Who cures. There is no cure but Your cure, a cure that leaves no disease behind.' Another narration: When any of us complained of pain in any part of the body, the Prophet (ﷺ) would put his finger on the spot and say: 'Bismillah (In the name of Allah), turbu ardina, riqu ba'dina, yashfi saqeemana, bi idhni rabbina (With the soil of our land and the saliva of some of us, our sick will be cured by the permission of our Lord).'
