O Allah, Revealer of the Book, Swift in account, defeat the confederates! O Allah, defeat them and shake them!
Allahumma munzilal-kitabi, saree'al-hisabi, ihzim al-ahzab. Allahumma ihzimhum wa zalzilhum.
When to Read
This powerful dua is particularly relevant when we feel overwhelmed by the struggles and divisions within the Muslim ummah. It's a supplication to be made during times of distress, when facing formidable opposition, or when witnessing injustice against Muslims worldwide. Reciting it with a sincere heart can bring solace and a renewed sense of reliance on Allah.
How to Read
This dua was recited by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ during the Battle of the Trench (Khandaq). It is meant to be recited with conviction and a deep understanding of our dependence on Allah. Raise your hands, turn towards the Qiblah if possible, and pour out your heart, imploring Allah's victory and relief for the Ummah. The intensity and sincerity of the supplication are key.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua embodies the principle of *tawakkul* (reliance on Allah) in the face of adversity. It demonstrates that even in the darkest of times, Muslims are encouraged to turn to their Creator for help and support. The victory Allah grants comes not just through physical means, but through His divine intervention and the strength He bestows upon believers.

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (ﷺ) went out during the trench campaign and the hypocrites were saying, 'Allah and His Messenger promised us nothing but delusion.' So Allah the Almighty revealed: 'And when a group of them said: 'O people of Yathrib! there is no stand for you (here), so return (home).' And a party of them from the Prophet (ﷺ) asked for leave of the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, 'Truly our houses are without protection,' while they were not protecting them, they wanted nothing but to flee (away from the battle). And if they had been ordered to go to it (the battle), they would have gone with the minimum of them. [33.13] The Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'O Allah, save us from them,' and he said: 'Allahumma munzilal-kitabi, saree'al-hisabi, ihzim al-ahzab. Allahumma ihzimhum wa zalzilhum.' (O Allah, Revealer of the Book, Swift in account, defeat the confederates! O Allah, defeat them and shake them!). Sahih al-Bukhari 6306
