Sadness
Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 2709

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the demise of Your favors, the turning of Your well-being, the suddenness of Your vengeance, and all of Your displeasure.

Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min zawali ni'matika, wa tahawwuli 'afiyatika, wa fuji'ati niqmatika, wa jami'i sukhțik

When to Read

This dua is profoundly relevant when we witness disrespect or irreverence in places of worship, or see sacred matters being treated lightly. It's a shield against the emotional distress that such sights can bring, and a plea for divine protection against the consequences of such disregard.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincerity and a heavy heart, focusing on the gravity of what you've witnessed. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us to recite it. Place your trust in Allah, knowing that He hears your pleas and sees your pain. It can be recited at any time, but is particularly potent when the feeling of sadness and disapproval arises.

Virtues & Benefits
