O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your female servant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is ever effective, and Your decree concerning me is just. I ask You by every name that You have called Yourself, that You have taught to anyone in Your creation, that You have revealed in Your Book, or that You have kept hidden in the knowledge of the unseen with You, to make the Qur'an the springtime of my heart, and the light of my chest, the banisher of my sadness, and the remover of my worries.
Allahumma inni 'abduka, ibn 'abdika, ibn amatika, nasiyati biyadika, madin fiyya hukmuka, 'adlun fiyya qada'uka, as'aluka bikulli ismin huwa laka sammayta bihi nafsaka, aw 'allamtahu ahadan min khalqika, aw anzaltahu fi kitabika, aw ista'tharta bihi fi 'ilm il-ghaybi 'indaka, an taj'ala al-Qur'ana rabi'a qalbi, wa nura sadri, wa jila'a huzni, wa dhahaba hammi.
