O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your female servant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your decree concerning me prevails. Your judgment over me is just. I ask You by every Name that You have called Yourself, or revealed to any of Your creation, or sent down in Your Book, or kept to Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen which You possess, to make the Qur'an the springtime of my heart, the light of my chest, the banisher of my sorrow, and the reliever of my worries.
Allahumma inni 'abduk, ibnu 'abdik, ibnu amatik, nasiyatii biyadika, madin fiyya hukkumuk, 'adlun fiyya qada'uk, as'aluka bikulli ismin huwa lak, sammayta bihi nafsak, aw 'allamtahu ahadan min khalqik, aw anzaltahu fi kitábik, aw ista'tharta bihi fi 'ilm-il-ghaybi 'indak, an taj'al al-Qur'ana rabi'a qalbi, wa nura sadri, wa jila'a huzni, wa dhahaba hammi.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this dua to a man who complained of distress and worry. The Prophet ﷺ told him to supplicate to Allah using these exact words. The man did so, and Allah removed his distress and worry. Narrated by Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "No person ever suffered any anxiety or grief, and then said (this dua) but Allah Almighty would remove his anxiety and grief, and replace his grief with joy." He was asked: "O Messenger of Allah! Should we learn these words?" He replied: "Yes, indeed! Every person who hears them should learn them."
