Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-hammi wal-hazani, wa a'udhu bika minal-'ajzi wal-kasali, wa a'udhu bika minal-jubni wal-bukhl, wa a'udhu bika min ghalabad-dayni wa qahrir-rijal

Virtues & Benefits
This dua directly addresses several common sources of distress and overwhelm: worry (hamm), grief (hazan), helplessness (ajz), laziness (kasal), fear (jubn), and miserliness (buhl). By seeking refuge in Allah from these, we acknowledge His power to alleviate our suffering and grant us strength. The latter part, seeking refuge from debt and oppression, addresses practical burdens that can weigh heavily on the soul, hindering inner peace. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this dua as a comprehensive shield against overwhelming afflictions.
