This dua is particularly relevant when facing financial strain, especially when the demands of caregiving weigh heavily on one's resources. Recite it after every obligatory prayer, or at any time you feel the pressure of providing for your family and managing your responsibilities.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity and conviction, raising your hands as you do so. Focus on the meaning of the words, truly asking Allah (SWT) to meet your needs through His halal means and to make you independent of reliance on anyone else. Maintaining awareness of Allah's blessings, even amidst hardship, is key.
Virtues & Benefits
This supplication directly asks Allah (SWT) for two crucial things: provision that is permissible (halal) and freedom from need for anyone other than Him. For a caregiver, this can translate to ease in finding lawful means to support their family, reducing the stress associated with financial burdens. It also cultivates a deep reliance on Allah, which is a source of immense inner strength and peace when facing challenges like long-term caregiving.
Source & Authentication
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught his uncle Al-Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) a dua to say: 'O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful provision against unlawful provision, and enrich me with Your grace, so that I may not need anyone but You.' (Sunan At-Tirmidhi 3563). Tirmidhi mentioned it is Hasan Ghareeb. The context here is seeking general lawful sustenance and independence from creation, which is a profound support for anyone facing significant responsibilities.
