O Allah, forgive the Muslim men and Muslim women, the believing men and believing women. Rectify the matters between them, unite their hearts, and make subservient to them the good of this world and the hereafter as You please. Replace their fear with security, and make them grateful to You, remembering You, desiring You, and fearing You.
Allahummaghfir lil-muslimeena wal-muslimaat, wal-mu'mineena wal-mu'minaat, wa aslih thaata baynihim, wa allif bayna quloobihim, wa sakhkhir lahum min khayrid-dunya wal-aakhirati ma tasha', wa abdilhum min ba'di khawfihim amnan, waj'alhum laka shaakireena, laka thaakireena, raaghibeena ilayka raahibeen.

The hadith speaks to the general supplication for the Ummah and for unity. While this specific wording might not be in the most famous collections with this exact context, the essence of seeking Allah's forgiveness, unity, and well-being for the believers is deeply rooted in numerous authentic narrations. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ frequently made dua for the Ummah, for unity, and for the rectification of disputes. This particular formulation captures that spirit beautifully and is considered a sound (Hasan) supplication by scholars. Narrated by Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, 'No servant truly believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself.' (Sahih al-Bukhari 13) This underlying principle of brotherhood and collective well-being is what this dua embodies. The dua itself is a manifestation of wanting good for others, a core tenet of our faith.
