Hasan HadithSunan Ibn Majah 925

اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّى أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا وَعَمَلاً مُتَقَبَّلاً

O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, pure provision, and acceptable deeds.

Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman nafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan

When to Read

This powerful dua is excellent to recite after the obligatory prayers (fardh salah). It's a beautiful way to conclude your prayer, asking Allah for the best in this life and the hereafter. You can also make it a regular part of your morning or evening remembrance (dhikr).

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincerity and conviction, focusing on the meaning of each word. Raise your hands in supplication if reciting it outside of prayer, as is the sunnah for dua. Ensure your heart is present and you are turning your focus solely to Allah.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua encompasses three essential elements for a truly prosperous and healthy life. Beneficial knowledge guides us, pure provision sustains us without causing distress or sin, and acceptable deeds are the foundation of our success in the Hereafter. Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to recite this very dua after the Salam of his prayer, seeking these blessings from Allah.

Source & Authentication

‘Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, when he would finish his prayer, would not finish until he said: Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman nafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan. (O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, pure provision, and acceptable deeds.)
