Rizq & Provision
Hasan HadithSunan Ibn Majah 925

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا.

O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, pure provision, and accepted deeds.

Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman nafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan.

When to Read

This dua is excellent to recite at any time, especially after Fajr prayer. It encapsulates a holistic request for what sustains us in this life and the next: knowledge that guides us, provision that sustains us and our families, and deeds that are accepted by Allah. Making it a regular part of your morning routine can set a positive and focused tone for the day, reminding you of your reliance on Allah for all your needs and efforts.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincere intention and conviction. Raise your hands in supplication if possible, facing the Qiblah. Make sure you are in a state of Wudu (ablution). Begin by praising Allah and sending blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Then, present your heartfelt request for knowledge, provision, and acceptance of deeds. Conclude by asking Allah to accept your dua.

Virtues & Benefits

This powerful dua, taught by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, is comprehensive. 'Beneficial knowledge' ( 'ilman nafi'an') guides our actions and strengthens our ability to fulfill responsibilities. 'Pure provision' (rizqan tayyiban) ensures that the sustenance we receive is lawful and blessed, enabling us to provide for our families with peace of mind and fulfilling Allah's command. 'Accepted deeds' ('amalan mutaqabbalan) means that our efforts, including striving to earn a living and care for our family, are recognized and rewarded by Allah. This leads to inner peace and contentment, knowing that our struggles are acknowledged and our intentions are honored.
