Rizq & Provision
Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 2710

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the decline of Your blessings, the change of Your protection, the suddenness of Your punishment, and all Your displeasure. I seek refuge in You from destruction, I seek refuge in You from falling into ruin, I seek refuge in You from old age, I seek refuge in You from being confused in my affairs, and I seek refuge in You from being confused about my affairs.

Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min zawali ni'matik, wa tahawwuli 'afiyatik, wa faja'ati niqmatik, wa jami'i sakhatik, wa a'udhu bika minal hadm, wa a'udhu bika minat-taraddi, wa a'udhu bika minal haram, wa a'udhu bika an atakhabbata fil-amr, wa a'udhu bika an atakhabbata 'alal-amr.

Virtues & Benefits

While this specific dua doesn't detail worldly rewards, its benefits are profound and spiritual. It embodies the understanding that wealth, like any other provision (rizq), is a test from Allah. By seeking refuge from its decline, transformation into hardship, sudden punishment, or His displeasure, you are essentially asking for Allah's help to manage this blessing responsibly. This includes protecting yourself from becoming arrogant, miserly, or causing harm through your wealth. It fosters humility and gratitude, essential for maintaining Allah's favor. Seeking refuge from confusion in affairs pertains to making wise decisions regarding your finances, ensuring your wealth serves righteous purposes and doesn't lead you astray.

Source & Authentication

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to seek refuge in Allah from a bad life and a bad death, and from evil talk and evil actions, and from the evil of the Dajjal. He used to say: 'Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min zawali ni'matik, wa tahawwuli 'afiyatik, wa faja'ati niqmatik, wa jami'i sakhatik, wa a'udhu bika min al-hadmi, wa a'udhu bika min at-taraddi, wa a'udhu bika minal harami, wa a'udhu bika an atakhabbata fil-amr, wa a'udhu bika an atakhabbata 'alal-amr.'
