O Ever-Living, O Self-Sustaining One, by Your mercy I seek help. Rectify for me all of my affairs and do not entrust me to myself even for the blink of an eye.
Ya Hayyu Ya Qayyumu bi rahmatika astagheeth, aslih li sha'ni kullahu, wa la takilni ila nafsi tarfata 'ayn.
When to Read
Recite this when you find yourself feeling anxious, restless, or impatient while waiting for your provision (rizq) to manifest. It's particularly beneficial during times of financial hardship, job searching, or awaiting the success of a business venture. Make it a regular habit during your personal supplications, especially after prayers.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity and conviction, focusing on the meaning of the words. Raise your hands in supplication, as is the practice when making dua. Believe that Allah, the Ever-Living and Self-Sustaining, has the power to set all your affairs in order and will grant you what is best. It's important to couple this dua with sincere effort (asbab) in seeking your provision, as Allah does not change the condition of a people until they change what is within themselves (Surah Ar-Ra'd 13:11).
Virtues & Benefits
This powerful dua, taught by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to his daughter Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her), is a comprehensive plea for Allah's help in all matters. Its specific mention of 'rectify all my affairs' encompasses seeking patience and strength during times of waiting. By seeking refuge in Allah's mercy and not relying on oneself, one invites Allah's direct intervention and support, which is the ultimate source of strength and steadfastness when facing trials or delays in receiving one's rizq.

Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that Fatimah bint Abi Hubaysh (may Allah be pleased with her) said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I am a woman who does not become pure (i.e. has a persistent discharge). Should I leave prayer?' He said: 'No, for that is a vein. But leave prayer for the number of days that you used to refrain from praying, then perform Ghusl and wrap yourself with a cloth and then pray.' Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Verily the Shaytan comes to one of you while you are praying, and he says: 'Remember such and such, remember such and such.' Until he distracts him until he doesn't know how many he has prayed. When one of you experiences that, he should prostrate twice while he is sitting (i.e. two prostrations of forgetfulness).' He also said: 'O my daughter Fatimah, what prevents you from listening to what I tell you? And what prevents you from saying: 'O Ever-Living, O Self-Sustaining One, by Your mercy I seek help. Rectify for me all of my affairs, and do not entrust me to myself even for the blink of an eye.' (Sunan al-Tirmidhi 3502)
