اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنِي بِحَلاَلِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ وَأَغْنِنِي بِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ

O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful [provision] instead of Your unlawful [provision], and enrich me with Your bounty, so that I am not in need of anyone other than You.

Allahumma-kfini bihalalika 'an haramika wa aghnini bifadlika 'amman siwaka

When to Read

This powerful dua is perfect for when you feel your current means of provision are limited, or when you're seeking to diversify your income streams. It's especially potent when recited after your obligatory prayers, or during the times when dua is more likely to be accepted, such as the last third of the night or between the adhan and iqamah. You can also make this a regular part of your morning or evening remembrance.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincerity and conviction, truly believing in Allah's ability to provide from sources you cannot even imagine. Raise your hands in supplication as you do so. Focus on the meaning of the words: asking Allah to keep you away from haram income and to make you independent through His grace. It's important to also couple this dua with genuine effort in seeking lawful means of earning, as Islam encourages us to be proactive in our pursuit of rizq.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua is a direct request to Allah for protection from unlawful earnings and for independence through His blessings. It cultivates a beautiful reliance (tawakkul) on Allah while acknowledging the need for lawful means. By asking to be 'sufficiently provided for by Your lawful provision' and 'enriched by Your grace,' you are essentially asking Allah to open doors to opportunities that are both permissible and abundant, often in ways we wouldn't have foreseen. This focus on Allah's *fadl* (bounty and grace) is key to receiving unexpected blessings.

Source & Authentication

It was narrated from Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man who was in debt came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I am unable to pay my debts.' He said: 'Shall I not teach you some words with which you can pay your debts, even if they were as great as a mountain? Say: O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful [provision] instead of Your unlawful [provision], and enrich me with Your bounty, so that I am not in need of anyone other than You.'
