اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنِي بِحَلالِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ، وَأَغْنِنِي بِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ
O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful provision instead of Your unlawful provision, and enrich me with Your bounty so that I am not in need of anyone other than You.
Allahumma akfini bihalalika 'an haramika, wa aghnini bifadlika 'amman siwaka
When to Read
This is a powerful dua to make regularly, especially during times of financial worry or when seeking new opportunities for earning. It’s perfect to recite after your obligatory prayers (fardh salah) or at any point during the day when you feel the need to seek Allah’s direct help for your sustenance.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity and conviction, believing that Allah is the ultimate provider. Focus on the meaning as you speak, visualizing Allah's infinite ability to grant you what is lawful and good. Raising your hands slightly, as is customary when making dua, can also enhance the feeling of supplication.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua directly asks Allah for two crucial things: protection from unlawful (haram) earnings and sufficiency through His lawful (halal) provision. It also expresses a deep reliance on Allah, asking for wealth and independence through His grace, which prevents one from becoming dependent on others. Seeking lawful rizq is a fundamental aspect of living a life pleasing to Allah, as He tells us in the Quran: "O mankind, eat from whatever is on earth [that is] lawful and good..." (Al-Baqarah 2:168). The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us this dua as a direct means to achieve this state of blessed provision.

He said: This is a Hasan Gharib hadith. We do not know it except from this chain.
