اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنِي بِحَلَالِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ وَأَغْنِنِي بِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ
O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful provision instead of Your unlawful provision, and enrich me with Your grace, so that I may not need anyone other than You.
Allahummakfini bihalalika 'an haramika wa aghnini bifadlika 'amman siwaka
When to Read
This dua is perfect for reciting at any time, especially when you are seeking increased provision (rizq). It's particularly potent when coupled with acts of generosity, as the underlying principle is seeking Allah's halal provision and relying solely on Him. Think about reciting it before starting your day, after salah, or during moments when you feel a need to ask Allah for His bounty.
How to Read
Recite this beautiful dua with sincere intention and full reliance on Allah. Raise your hands if you are able, maintaining the Sunnah etiquette of dua. Focus on the meaning: asking Allah to make your provision pure and lawful, and to make you independent of creation through His immense favor. Remember that sincerity (ikhlas) and conviction in Allah's response are key.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua directly connects seeking lawful provision with divine sufficiency. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us this supplication, highlighting the importance of asking Allah for that which is halal (lawful) and abstaining from haram (unlawful). It also emphasizes tawakkul (reliance on Allah), asking Him to make us content with His provision and independent of others. This fosters a beautiful mindset where our ultimate hope and trust rest solely with our Creator, which in turn can open doors to immense barakah (blessings) in our rizq. The act of being generous towards others, even with little, is a means of attracting Allah's generosity towards us, as stated in the Sunnah: 'Whoever relieves a Muslim of a hardship, Allah will relieve him of a hardship on the Day of Resurrection...' (Sahih Muslim 2699).

A man asked the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ: 'O Messenger of Allah, which dua is the most heard?' He replied: 'The dua of a person when he is in need and asks Allah, and the dua of a person for another person when they are absent, and the dua of a person against his servant (oppressor).' Then a man said to him: 'Make it specific for us.' So he said: 'The dua of a person when he is in need and asks Allah, and the dua of a person for another person when they are absent.' The man said: 'The second one?' He said: 'Yes, for it is an angel who comes to him and says: Ameen, and you have the like of it.' Then the man said: 'What about the first one?' He said: 'It is when a person asks Allah for something, and He says: 'I have heard what is in your soul, and I will grant it to you, or I will keep it from you until a time that you do not know.' Then he said: 'O Messenger of Allah, teach me a comprehensive dua.' So he said: 'Say: Allahummakfini bihalalika 'an haramika wa aghnini bifadlika 'amman siwaka.' (O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful provision instead of Your unlawful provision, and enrich me with Your grace, so that I may not need anyone other than You.) — Sunan At-Tirmidhi 3563
