اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنِي بِحَلَالِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ وَأَغْنِنِي بِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ

O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful (provision) instead of Your unlawful, and make me independent by Your grace instead of relying on anyone other than You.

When to Read

This dua is profoundly relevant when facing financial decisions or seeking sustenance. It's a powerful supplication to make at the start of your day or before making any financial commitment.

How to Read

It is recommended to raise your hands slightly while making dua, as a sign of earnest supplication. Doing so after prayers or during times of need enhances its impact.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua directly asks Allah for two crucial blessings: sustenance through lawful means and independence from creation. It acknowledges Allah as the sole provider and protector, seeking His help to avoid unlawful earnings, which carry significant spiritual and worldly consequences. By relying on Allah's grace, one finds true contentment and security, far superior to any temporary gain from forbidden sources. This supplication aligns with the broader Islamic principle of seeking lawful *rizq* (provision) and being mindful of our earnings, which is a cornerstone of righteous living and a prerequisite for the acceptance of deeds, including the correct payment of 'ushr (tithe) from legitimate produce.
