The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said to Al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him): 'O Uncle, I shall give you, I shall bestow upon you, I shall grant you, I shall help you. I shall grant you ten [things]: I shall grant you ten times your undertaking. I shall grant you that you are near me on the Day of Increase [i.e., the Day of Judgement]. I shall grant you that you take what you were given and what you were not given. I shall grant you that you have the right to intercede, so intercede and your intercession will be accepted. I shall grant you that you have the right to speak, so speak and your speech will be heard. Verily, I shall grant you ten things, so keep ten things from me. Do not ask a question with 'what?' or 'what has happened?' or 'he has spent?' until the Day of Judgement. Do not ask anyone anything. Do not spare a rider [i.e., do not ask for anything from anyone]. Do not sell the dates of the year for dates of the year. Do not wear silk, or brocade, or satin, or pure silk. And say: Allahumma ikfini bi halalika 'an haramika wa aghnini bifadlika 'amman siwak (O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful provision instead of Your unlawful provision, and enrich me with Your grace, making me independent of all except You). [This last part was taught to him and he was commanded to say it every morning and evening].' - Sunan At-Tirmidhi 3563, graded Hasan.
