When to Read

This simple yet profound dua is perfect for reciting at the beginning of any task, upon waking up in the morning, or whenever you feel overwhelmed by your schedule. It's a way to consciously ask Allah (SWT) to infuse your hours with His blessings, making them more productive and meaningful, rather than just counting them.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincerity and conviction, picturing Allah's barakah flowing into your day. It's meant to be a brief, heartfelt supplication. You can say it once, or repeat it a few times if you feel the need. The key is the intention behind it – acknowledging that all time and productivity comes from Allah alone.

Virtues & Benefits

Asking for barakah in time is essentially asking for more effective and meaningful use of our hours, which is a significant form of rizq (sustenance). When Allah blesses our time, even a short period can feel incredibly productive, allowing us to achieve more, learn more, and worship more effectively. It combats the feeling of time slipping away without accomplishment and helps us prioritize what truly matters, aligning our actions with our purpose.

Source & Authentication

The hadith mentioned by Al-Bayhaqi is narrated by Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) supplicated: 'O Allah, bless me in my time.' (Al-Bayhaqi, Shu'ab al-Iman 7253). While this specific narration is classified as Hasan, the concept of seeking barakah in all aspects of life, including time, is deeply rooted in the Quran and Sunnah. Allah (SWT) says in Surah Al-Furqan (25:2): 'And He has created each thing and determined it with determination.' This indicates that even the measurement of time and its potential for blessing is from Allah.
