اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا ، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا ، وَعَمَلاً مُتَقَبَّلاً
O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, pure provision, and deeds that are accepted.
Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman nafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan
When to Read
This dua is excellent to recite when you are actively seeking employment, or when you feel your current job is not aligning with your values or is not providing for you in a pleasing way. You can make it a part of your supplications after prayer, during the times when dua is readily accepted, such as the last third of the night or between the Adhan and Iqamah.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity and conviction, focusing on your intention to seek provision that is both lawful and fulfilling, and to engage in work that is pleasing to Allah. Ensure you are in a state of purity if possible, and face the Qiblah. Raise your hands as you normally would for supplication. Reflect on the meaning of each part of the dua: asking for knowledge that benefits, provision that is pure and lawful, and deeds that Allah accepts.
Virtues & Benefits
This comprehensive dua covers three essential aspects for a believer's life and work: beneficial knowledge helps you navigate life and your career correctly; pure provision (rizqan tayyiban) ensures your sustenance is lawful and blessed, avoiding haram earnings; and accepted deeds ('amalan mutaqabbalan) mean that your efforts in your job, if they align with Islamic principles, will be rewarded by Allah. It's a powerful supplication for seeking a career that not only provides for your needs but also earns Allah's pleasure.

Narrated by Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to say, after the morning prayer: 'Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman nafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan.' (O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, pure provision, and deeds that are accepted.)
