O Allah, bless their fruits, bless their measures, and bless their sa's and their mudd's.
Allahumma barik lahum fi thamarim wa barik lahum fi mikyalihim wa barik lahum fi sa'ihim wa diyyihim.
When to Read
This is a beautiful dua the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ made for the people of Makkah. We can recite it with sincere intention when we visit a new place, or to ask Allah for blessings upon our own home and the provision He sends our way. It's particularly poignant when sharing food, gifts, or resources with others, extending Allah's blessings.
How to Read
Recite this dua with a sincere heart, focusing on the meaning of asking Allah to multiply and protect the blessings in your home and provisions. You can raise your hands as you make dua, just as the Prophet ﷺ did. It’s best recited after mentioning Allah's name and with pure intentions. Making this dua for others, as the Prophet ﷺ did for the people of Makkah, is also highly recommended.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua encapsulates a comprehensive request for blessings ('barakah') in sustenance and livelihoods. When we ask Allah to bless our fruits (representing produce and wealth), our measures (representing fairness and equity in trade), and our quantities (sa' and mudd, specific units of measure), we are asking for Allah's divine increase and protection over our provisions. This reflects the Islamic emphasis on seeking lawful rizq and ensuring its purity and abundance. The Prophet's ﷺ invocation of 'barakah' signifies seeking divine favor that multiplies good and wards off evil, making what little we have sufficient and what much we have even more beneficial.

It was narrated from Anas that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'When Allah decreed the decree, the scripturers of the Throne wrote: Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim. Allahumma barik lahum fi thamarim wa barik lahum fi mikyalihim wa barik lahum fi sa'ihim wa diyyihim. (O Allah, bless their fruits, bless their measures, and bless their sa's and their mudd's). They said: 'O Allah, you have blessed them with everything.' The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Had He not decreed it, it would not have come to pass.'
