When to Read

This dua is particularly powerful when facing overwhelming oppression or the threat of unjust rulers. You can recite it when you feel fear for your safety or well-being due to the actions of those in power. It's also beneficial to make this a regular supplication, especially during times of widespread injustice, as it reflects a deep reliance on Allah's power to shield us from harm.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincerity and conviction, visualizing Allah's protection enveloping you. Raise your hands slightly if possible, as is customary when making dua, and speak the words with a clear heart. It's best to face the Qiblah (direction of prayer) if you are able, though this is not a strict condition. The essence is to turn your heart fully towards Allah, acknowledging His sovereignty and His ability to thwart any oppressor.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua is a direct plea to Allah for protection against those who wield power unjustly. By reciting it, we are actively seeking Allah's intervention to ward off the harm and tyranny that dictators and oppressive rulers can inflict. It serves as a constant reminder that ultimate power rests with Allah, and He is capable of humbling the proudest tyrant and protecting His believing servants. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this specific supplication, highlighting its importance in moments of confrontation or fear concerning such individuals.
