O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of Hellfire, and I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave, and I seek refuge in You from the trial of the Dajjal, and I seek refuge in You from the trial of wealth. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from anxiety and sorrow, and I seek refuge in You from helplessness and laziness, and I seek refuge in You from cowardice and stinginess, and I seek refuge in You from the burden of debt and the overpowering of men.
Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min 'adhabi jahannama, wa a'udhu bika min 'adhab al-qabr, wa a'udhu bika min fitnat ad-dajjal, wa a'udhu bika min fitnat al-mal. Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to supplicate frequently with the following words: 'O Allah, I seek refuge in You from anxiety and sorrow, helplessness and laziness, cowardice and stinginess, the burden of debt and the overpowering of men.' (Anas said:) 'So, I said (to the Prophet): 'O Prophet of Allah, I often seek refuge in You from these things.' The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'I seek refuge in Allah from these things.'
