O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the cessation of Your blessings, the reversal of Your well-being, the suddenness of Your punishment, and all that You are displeased with. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from distress and sorrow, from helplessness and laziness, from cowardice and stinginess, and from being overcome by debt and subjugated by men.
Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min zawali ni'matik, wa tahawwuli 'afiyatik, wa fuj'ati niqmatik, wa jami'i sakhatik. Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-hammi wal-hazan, wa a'udhu bika minal-'ajzi wal-kasal, wa a'udhu bika minal-jubni wal-buhl, wa a'udhu bika min ghalabatid-dayni wa qahrir-rijal.

Virtues & Benefits
This dua is incredibly comprehensive, covering protection from a range of spiritual and emotional harms. While not explicitly mentioning social media, its words perfectly address the negative influences we encounter online: * **Protection from loss of blessings:** Social media can distract us from blessings we have, leading to ingratitude. * **Protection from reversal of well-being:** The constant comparison and validation-seeking online can erode our inner peace and well-being. * **Protection from sudden punishment/displeasure:** Excessive use or engagement in harmful content online can lead to Allah's displeasure. * **Protection from distress and sorrow:** Social media often fuels anxiety, sadness, and feelings of loneliness. * **Protection from helplessness and laziness:** The endless scroll can lead to procrastination and a lack of motivation for productive or beneficial deeds. * **Protection from fear and stinginess:** The curated lives seen online can foster envy, fear of missing out, and a hoarding mentality (even of time or attention). * **Protection from debt and subjugation:** While literal debt is mentioned, it can extend metaphorically to being enslaved by our desires, opinions of others, or the addictive nature of platforms.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to seek refuge in Allah from the hardship of calamity and the evil of fate, and from evil of days and wicked companions and from evil of the Dajjal. He used to say: 'O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the cessation of Your blessings, the reversal of Your well-being, the suddenness of Your punishment, and all that You are displeased with. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from distress and sorrow, from helplessness and laziness, from cowardice and stinginess, and from being overcome by debt and subjugated by men.'
