O Allah, I seek refuge in You from a bad neighbor, and from a bad spouse, and from a bad mount, and from the quickly occurring forbidden things, and from sitting with bad people, and from a bad neighbor in the dwelling place. Indeed, Your punishment is severe, and verily, he does not succeed who disputes.
Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min jaris-su'i, wa min zawjatis-su'i, wa min dabbatis-su'i, wa min saree'i wuqo'il-harami, wa min mujalasatis-su'i, wa min jaris-su'i fi daril-muqami, inna ba'saka-sh-shadeeda, wa innahu la yuflihu man jaddala.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to seek refuge in Allah from many evils, and he taught his companions to do so. Among the things he sought refuge from was a bad neighbor. In one narration, he supplicated: 'Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min jaris-su'i, wa min zawjatis-su'i, wa min dabbatis-su'i, wa min saree'i wuqo'il-harami, wa min mujalasatis-su'i, wa min jaris-su'i fi daril-muqami, inna ba'saka-sh-shadeeda, wa innahu la yuflihu man jaddala.' (O Allah, I seek refuge in You from a bad neighbor, and from a bad spouse, and from a bad mount, and from the quickly occurring forbidden things, and from sitting with bad people, and from a bad neighbor in the dwelling place. Indeed, Your punishment is severe, and verily, he does not succeed who disputes.) - Reported by Abu Dawud and graded Sahih.
