بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing on earth or in the heavens can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

Bismillahilladhi la yadhurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i wa huwas-Sami'ul-'Alim.

When to Read

This powerful supplication is recommended to be recited every morning and evening. By saying it three times in the morning, you are shielded from calamities throughout the day. Similarly, reciting it three times in the evening protects you through the night. It's a proactive way to invoke Allah's protection before any misfortune strikes.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincerity and full conviction in Allah's power to protect. It's best to recite it calmly, perhaps after Fajr and Asr prayers, or at any time during the morning and evening. Ensure you are in a state of wudu if possible, though it's not strictly required for this remembrance.

Virtues & Benefits

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ promised immense protection for those who consistently recite this dua. It acts as a spiritual shield, warding off all sorts of harm, accidents, and unforeseen misfortunes. The Hadith states that whoever says this three times in the morning will not be afflicted by any sudden calamity until evening, and whoever says it three times in the evening will not be afflicted by any calamity until morning. (Sunan Abi Dawud 5087, Sahih Ibn Hibban 870). This highlights the profound efficacy of seeking refuge in Allah's name.

Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever says 'Bismillahilladhi la yadhurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i wa huwas-Sami'ul-'Alim' three times in the morning, he will not be afflicted by any sudden calamity until the evening, and whoever says it three times in the evening, he will not be afflicted by any sudden calamity until the morning."
