بِسْمِ اللهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
In the name of Allah, with Whose name nothing on earth or in heaven can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

Narrated by Aban ibn Uthman: 'Uthman ibn 'Affan was once in the company of the Prophet (peace be upon him) when a man who was blinded from birth was mentioned. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Do you go to him and ask him to pray for you?' He said: 'Yes, and our dua is for our worldly benefit.' So the man went to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and he told him to perform ablution and say: 'O Allah, I ask You by Your Prophet Muhammad, the Prophet of mercy, indeed I have turned to You with my need, this matter which I know. So accept my intercession for me and my need, and say: 'In the name of Allah, with Whose name nothing on earth or in heaven can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.'' So he did that, and Allah restored his sight to him. This hadith is narrated by Tirmidhi, and he said: 'This is a hasan sahih hadith.' (Sunan Abi Dawud 5087, Sunan At-Tirmidhi 3578). The hadith above demonstrates the efficacy of the dua in seeking Allah's help through sincere supplication.
