اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ النِّفَاقِ، وَالشِّقَاقِ، وَسُوءِ الأَخْلاَقِ
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the evil of hypocrisy, dissension, and bad manners.
Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min sharri-n-nifaqi, wash-shiqāqi, wa sū'i-l-akhlāq
When to Read
Recite this dua regularly, especially after your obligatory prayers, or when you feel a stirring of insincerity in your heart or notice it in your actions. It’s a proactive measure to safeguard your faith and character.
How to Read
Raise your hands as you would for other duas. Say it with sincerity and a deep understanding of what you are asking for – a sincere heart, unity with the believers, and noble character. Reflect on the meaning as you speak.
Virtues & Benefits
This comprehensive dua protects against the inner disease of hypocrisy, the outward division it causes, and the degradation of character that often accompanies it. Hypocrisy (Nifaq) is a grave spiritual illness, and seeking refuge from it is a sign of a believer's concern for their deen. Dissension (Shiqāq) breaks the bonds of brotherhood and community, while bad manners (sū'i-l-akhlāq) can repel people from Islam. By asking for refuge from all three, you're seeking holistic protection for yourself and your community.
