Prophetic Duas
Hasan HadithSunan Abi Dawud 5066

O Allah, answer him when he calls upon You, forgive him when he seeks Your forgiveness, bring him near to You with a closeness that shields him from all Your creation, do not let his speech be scattered, do not let his affairs be gathered [in confusion], do not pay him heed [i.e., do not let him be preoccupied with worldly matters or His anger], and do not return him disappointed. O Lord, grant him the best of what You grant Your righteous servants.

Allahummastajib lahu idha da'ak, waghfir lahu idha istaghfaraka, wa qarrabhu ilayka qurbatan yasunuhu biha 'an jami'i khalqika, wa la tushattit lahu qawlan, wa la tajma' 'alayhi amrahu, wa la tubali bihi, wa la tarudda'hu kha'iban, wa a'tihi ya Rabbi afdala ma tu'ti 'ibadaka as-salihin.

Narrated Sa'd: That the Prophet ﷺ visited him while he was ill. The Prophet ﷺ supplicated, 'O Allah, heal Sa'd.' So, Sa'd said, 'O Messenger of Allah, I wish you would supplicate for what I wish for myself.' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'Allahumma-stajib lahu idha da'ak, wa-ghfir lahu idha istaghfaraka, wa qarrabhu ilayka qurbatan yasunuhu biha 'an jami'i khalqika, wa la tushattit lahu qawlan, wa la tajma' 'alayhi amrahu, wa la tubali bihi, wa la tarudda'hu kha'iban, wa a'tihi ya Rabbi afdala ma tu'ti 'ibadaka as-salihin.'
