اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَجْعَلُكَ فِي نُحُورِهِمْ وَنَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شُرُورِهِمْ

O Allah, indeed We place You at their throats (i.e., suffice us against them) and We seek refuge in You from their evils.

Allahumma inna naj'aluka fi nuhurihim wa na'udhu bika min shururihim

When to Read

This powerful dua is recommended when facing oppressive or unjust rulers, or any individual or group whose power and malice one fears. It is a dua for seeking Allah's direct intervention and protection when human means seem insufficient against tyranny. Recite it when you feel threatened by the authority or intentions of a powerful adversary.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincere conviction and tawakkul (reliance on Allah). Visualize Allah's power surrounding and protecting you from the threat. It's a plea for Allah to be your shield and to neutralize the harm intended by those in power. You can repeat it as needed, especially when in direct proximity to or anticipating interaction with the feared individual.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua encapsulates a profound reliance on Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) when confronted with oppressive power. By reciting it, we acknowledge that true strength and protection come only from Him. It is a supplication that demonstrates faith and courage, seeking Allah's sufficiency against those who might seek to harm or oppress us. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this for situations where the 'fury' or 'power' of the enemy is overwhelming, showing that even in dire circumstances, turning to Allah is the ultimate solution.
