O Ali, shall I not teach you words by which you call upon Allah, if all the mountains were a debt upon you, Allah would pay it off for you? Say: Glory be to Allah the Mighty and praise be to Him. Glory be to Allah the Mighty. O Allah, I ask You for the doing of good deeds, and the leaving of evil deeds, and the love of the poor, and that You forgive me and have mercy on me. And when You intend for Your servants a trial, take me to Yourself without being subjected to it. Al-Tirmidhi narrated from Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said to him: 'O Abu Dharr, shall I not teach you two phrases that are easy to say, but heavy on the scales (of deeds), and pleasing to the Most Merciful (Allah)?' He said: 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: 'Subḥān Allāhi al-ʿaẓīmi wa biḥamdihi' (Glory be to Allah the Mighty and praise be to Him) – and 'Subḥān Allāhi wa biḥamdihi' (Glory be to Allah and praise be to Him). (Sunan At-Tirmidhi 3501). In another narration from Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'O Ali, shall I not teach you words by which you call upon Allah, if all the mountains were a debt upon you, Allah would pay it off for you? Say: Subḥān Allāhi al-ʿaẓīmi wa biḥamdihi, Subḥān Allāhi al-ʿaẓīm, Allāhumma innī as'aluka min fiʿli khayrāt, wa tarki al-munkarāt, wa ḥubbi al-masākīn, wa idhā aradta biʿibādika fitnatan, faqbiḍnī ilayka ghayra muftatin.
