Narrated Abu Musa: The sun eclipsed and the Prophet (ﷺ) stood up, being afraid that it was the Day of Resurrection. He went to the Masjid and offered a prayer with the longest Qiyam, Ruku' and Sujud that he had ever offered him before and said, 'This is a sign. So, when you see it, turn to remembering Allah and supplicating and seeking His forgiveness.' He further said, 'O people of Bani 'Imran! How is your fortitude? Verily, the sun and the moon are two signs amongst the signs of Allah. They do not eclipse because of the death or life of anyone. So, when you see them, supplicate to Allah, and say: 'SubhanAllah walhamdulillah wa la ilaha illallah wallahu akbar wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah' (Glory be to Allah, praise be to Allah, there is no god but Allah, Allah is the Greatest, there is no might nor power except with Allah).
