Dua for a Newborn's Sense of Wonder and Discovery

أُعِيذُكَ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّةِ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ وَهَامَّةٍ، وَمِنْ كُلِّ عَيْنٍ لَامَّةٍ اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ صَحِيحًا كَامِلًا وَعَاقِلًا حَاذِقًا، وَأَعِذْهُ مِنْ صَدَاعٍ وَشَقَاءٍ اللَّهُمَّ طَوِّلْ عُمُرَهُ وَصَحِّحْ جِسْمَهُ وَقَوِّهِ، وَارْزُقْهُ اللَّهُمَّ بَلَاغَتَهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ اللَّهُمَّ زِدْهُ إِيمَانًا وَيَقِينًا، وَحِكْمَةً وَفِقْهًا، وَتُقًى وَزُهْدًا، وَرَغْبَةً فِي الْآخِرَةِ، وَشَوْقًا إِلَى لِقَائِكَ اللَّهُمَّ سَلِّمْهُ وَسَلِّمْ مِنْهُ اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ أَوَّابًا تَقِيًّا، رَبِّ اجْعَلْهُ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيْهِ، وَلِعِبَادِكَ الصَّالِحِينَ، وَذُرِّيَّتِهِ، وَأَجْرِهِ عَلَى يَدَيْهِ الْخَيْرَ اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ بَارًّا بِأَبَوَيْهِ، وَعَلَى خَيْرٍ مِنْ ذَلِكَ اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ قَوِيًّا فِي دِينِكَ، عَامِلًا بِسُنَّةِ نَبِيِّكَ، مُتَّبِعًا لِكِتَابِكَ، مُحِبًّا لِأَوْلِيَائِكَ، وَفِي جَنَّتِكَ اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ مُحِبًّا لِلْخَيْرِ، مُبْغِضًا لِلشَّرِّ، عَلَى مَا جَعَلْتَ لَهُ مِنَ الْخَيْرِ اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ فَهِمًا، وَحَكِيمًا، وَعَالِمًا، وَعَامِلًا، وَزَاهِدًا، وَعَابِدًا، وَرَغِبًا فِي الْآخِرَةِ اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ فِي صَدْرِ الْأُمَّةِ، وَفِي الْقُدْوَةِ، وَفِي الْعِزِّ اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ فِطْنَةً، وَسَلَامَةً، وَيُسْرًا

I seek refuge for you in the perfect words of Allah, from every devil and every poisonous creature, and from every evil eye. O Allah, make him healthy, complete, intelligent, and skillful, and protect him from headache and misery. O Allah, lengthen his life, make his body sound and strong, and grant him success in this world and the Hereafter. O Allah, increase his faith and certainty, wisdom and understanding, piety and abstinence, and his desire for the Hereafter and longing to meet You. O Allah, grant him safety and protect him from harm. O Allah, make him one who turns back to You often, and one who is pious. My Lord, make him [a source of joy] for me and for his parents, and for Your righteous servants, and his offspring. And facilitate good deeds through him. O Allah, make him dutiful to his parents, and better than that. O Allah, make him strong in Your religion, acting upon Your Prophet's Sunnah, following Your Book, loving Your allies, and [admitted] into Your Paradise. O Allah, make him love good and hate evil, and [bestow upon him] all the good You have destined for him. O Allah, make him understanding, wise, knowledgeable, practicing, abstinent, worshipful, and desirous of the Hereafter. O Allah, make him a leader of the Ummah, an example, and honored. O Allah, make him discerning, safe, and ease [his affairs].

U'iithuka bikalimatillahit-tammati min kulli shaytanin wa hammah, wa min kulli 'aynin lammah. Allahumma-j'alhu saḥīḥan kāmilān wa 'āqilān ḥāthiqān, wa a'idhu min ṣadā'in wa shaqa'i. Allahumma ṭawwil 'umurahu wa ṣaḥḥiḥ jasadahu wa qawwih, warzuqhu Allahumma balāghatahu fid-dunyā wal-ākhirah. Allahumma zidhu īmānan wa yaqīnan, wa ḥikmatan wa fiqhan, wa tuqan wa zuhdān, wa raghbatan fil-ākhirah, wa shawqan ilā liqā'ik. Allahumma sallimhu wa sallim minhu. Allahumma-j'alhu awwāban taqiyyan, Rabbi-j'alhu lī wa liwālidayhi, wa li'ibādika ṣ-ṣāliḥīn, wa dhurriyyatihi, wa ajrihi 'alā yadayhil-khair. Allahumma-j'alhu bārran biwālidayhi, wa 'alā khairin min dhālik. Allahumma-j'alhu qawiyyan fī dīnik, 'āmilān bisunnati nabiyyik, muttabi'an likitābik, muḥibban li-awliyā'ik, wa fī jannatik. Allahumma-j'alhu muḥibban lil-khair, mubghidan lish-sharri, 'alā mā ja'alta lahu min al-khair. Allahumma-j'alhu fahiman, wa ḥakīman, wa 'āliman, wa 'āmilān, wa zāhidan, wa 'ābidan, wa raghiban fil-ākhirah. Allahumma-j'alhu fī ṣadri l-ummah, wa fil-qudwah, wa fil-'izz. Allahumma-j'alhu fiṭnah, wa salāmah, wa yusrā.
