O Allah, make him blessed, and teach him the Book and wisdom, and righteous offspring, and make him dutiful to his parents, and cause him to die as a Muslim, and join him with the righteous.
Allahumma ij'alhu mubarakhan, wa 'allimhu al-kitaba wal-hikmata, wa salih dhurriyyatihi, waj'alhu barran biwalidayhi, wa tawaffahu musliman, walhiqhu bis-salihin

It is particularly fitting to recite it during the 'Aqiqah (the sacrifice of an animal on the seventh, fourteenth, or twenty-first day after a child's birth), or when looking after the baby, nurturing them, and introducing them to the faith. Think of it as a gentle whisper of intention into the life of your little one, asking Allah to imbue them with blessings and Islamic knowledge from their very beginning.
How to Read
This dua can be recited by parents, guardians, or anyone who wishes well for the child. It's beautiful to recite with sincerity and a heartfelt desire for the child's spiritual growth. You can whisper it to the baby, hold them while reciting, or offer it in prayer. The key is the intention and the earnest request from your heart to Allah (Exalted is He). Picture the words as a soft light you are sending to your child, asking Allah to guide their path. It's not about perfect pronunciation but about the sincerity of your plea.

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Every child is born upon the Fitrah. It is his parents who make him a Jew or a Magian or a Polytheist. It is related in Sahih Muslim (747) that a man asked the Prophet (ﷺ): 'What should I say?' He replied: Say: O Allah, make him blessed, and teach him the Book and wisdom, and grant him righteous offspring.' And in another narration: And cause him to die as a Muslim, and join him with the righteous. So he asked him to make him blessed and teach him the Book and wisdom, and grant him righteous offspring, and cause him to die as a Muslim, and join him with the righteous."
