When to Read
This dua is ideally recited immediately after the birth of a child, or at any time a parent wishes to seek Allah's protection for their newborn. It can be recited daily, especially when taking the baby outside or when they are around new people, to ward off any potential harm, illness, or the effects of the evil eye.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity and focus, placing your hand gently on the baby or in the air above them. You can repeat it multiple times, blowing gently on the child after each recitation, as was the practice of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ with his grandchildren.
Virtues & Benefits
Seeking refuge in Allah's perfect words is a powerful way to protect your child from unseen evils, sickness, and the harmful effects of the evil eye. It instills a sense of reliance on Allah from the very beginning of a child's life and teaches parents the importance of seeking divine protection for their offspring.

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: The Prophet (ﷺ) used to seek protection for Al-Hasan and Al-Husayn saying: 'I seek protection for you two with Allah's perfect words from every devil and every beast, and from every evil eye.'
