O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your female servant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is inevitable. Your decree concerning me is just. I ask You by every name that You have called Yourself, or revealed in Your Book, or taught to any of Your creation, or kept unto Yourself in the eternal knowledge of the unseen: I ask that You make the Qur'an the springtime of my heart, the light of my chest, the banisher of my sadness, and the remover of my worries.
Allahumma inni 'abduk, ibn 'abdik, ibn amatik, nasiyatii biyadika, madin fiyya huku-muka, 'adlun fiyya qadaa'uk, as'aluka bikulli ismin huwa lak, sammayta bihi nafsak, aw anzaltahu fi kitabi-ka, aw 'allamtahu ahadan min khalqi-ka, aw ista'tharta bihi fi 'ilm il-ghaybi 'indaka, an taj'ala al-Qur'ana rabee'a qalbi, wa noora sadri, wa jalaa'a huzni, wa dhahaaba hammi
