O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your maidservant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your decree concerning me is inevitable, and Your judgment concerning me is just. I ask You by every name that You have called Yourself, or revealed to any of Your creation, or sent down in Your Book, or kept to Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen which You possess, that You make the Qur'an the springtime of my heart, the light of my chest, the banisher of my grief, and the remover of my worry.
Allahumma inni 'abdak, ibnu 'abdik, ibnu amatik, nasiyati biyadika, madin fiyya hukmuk, 'adlun fiyya qada'uk, as'aluka bikulli ismin huwa lak, sammayta bihi nafsak, aw 'allamtahu ahadan min khalqik, aw anzaltahu fi kitabik, aw ista'tharta bihi fi 'ilmil-ghaybi 'indak, an taj'alal-Qur'ana rabi'a qalbi, wa nura sadri, wa jila'a huzni, wa dhahaba hammi.

The Prophet Muhammad ๏ทบ taught this dua to a man who had asked him for a way to deal with great worry and stress. The man said, 'O Messenger of Allah, I feel overwhelmed with worry and stress.' The Prophet ๏ทบ said, 'Should I not teach you words that, when you say them, Allah will take away your worry and settle your debt for you? Say: Allahumma inni 'abdak, ibnu 'abdik, ibnu amatik, nasiyati biyadika, madin fiyya hukmuk, 'adlun fiyya qada'uk, as'aluka bikulli ismin huwa lak, sammayta bihi nafsak, aw 'allamtahu ahadan min khalqik, aw anzaltahu fi kitabik, aw ista'tharta bihi fi 'ilmil-ghaybi 'indak, an taj'alal-Qur'ana rabi'a qalbi, wa nura sadri, wa jila'a huzni, wa dhahaba hammi.' The man said, 'O Messenger of Allah, I said them, and Allah took away my worry and settled my debt.' (Narrated by Ahmad, and also by Al-Hakim, who said it was sahih according to the conditions of Muslim).
