بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ النَّاسِ أَذْهِبِ الْبَأْسَ اشْفِ أَنْتَ الشَّافِي لَا شِفَاءَ إِلَّا شِفَاؤُكَ شِفَاءً لَا يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًا
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. O Allah, Lord of mankind, remove the harm, heal [him/her/yourself], You are the Healer. There is no healing except Your healing, a healing that leaves no ailment.
Bismillāhir-raḥmānir-raḥīm. Allāhumma Rabb an-nās, adhibil-ba's, ishfi anta ash-Shāfī, lā shifā'a illā shifā'uka shifā'an lā yughādiru saqaman.
When to Read
This dua is perfect for anyone, especially our elders, facing illness. Recite it with sincere belief and hope in Allah's mercy. It can be recited when you feel unwell, or when visiting a sick elderly person, placing your hand on them as the Prophet ﷺ did.
How to Read
Place your right hand on the affected area of the body, or on the forehead of the sick person. Recite the dua with conviction, focusing on Allah's power to heal. It's a beautiful practice to say it seven times, as taught by the Prophet ﷺ.

ʿĀʾishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that when anyone among them was sick, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) would say: 'O Allah, Lord of mankind, remove the harm, heal [him/her/yourself], You are the Healer. There is no healing except Your healing, a healing that leaves no ailment.' (Sahih al-Bukhari 5675). Another narration mentions placing the hand on the affected part and reciting it seven times.
