O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your maidservant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your judgment is in me. Your decree concerning me is just. I ask You by every name that You have called Yourself, or revealed to any of Your creation, or sent down in Your Book, or kept hidden in the knowledge of the unseen with You, that You make the Quran the springtime of my heart, the light of my chest, the banisher of my sadness, and the remover of my worries.
Allahumma inni 'abdak, ibnu 'abdik, ibnu amatik, nasiyati biyadika, madin fiyya hukmuka, 'adlun fiyya qada'uk, as'aluka bikulli ismin huwa lak, sammayta bihi nafsak, aw 'allamtahu ahadan min khalqik, aw anzaltahu fi kitabik, aw ista'tharta bihi fi 'ilmil-ghaybi 'indak, an taj'alal-Qur'ana rabi'a qalbi, wa nura sadri, wa jila'a huzni, wa dhahaba hammi.

It was said to him: 'O Messenger of Allah! Should we not learn these words?' He said: 'Yes, indeed everyone who hears them should learn them.'
